Stray Sod root faerie

Hi everyone! Pleased to announce that I finally have completed another root faerie, and she will be available for sale on eBay for a 3 day auction, starting Sunday October 7th, at 7pm EST.  Just a reminder that all of the photos here are greatly enlarged to show details, she is equivalent to a 5" figure if she were standing.

I'm putting all of her photos here, as eBay tends to reduce the quality and make them look blurry.  I am putting up the link early, so remember it won't be active until the above time.  I'll be deep in the middle of North Carolina this week, so i'll be unavailable to answer any questions until the auction begins on Sunday. 

Thanks again for all the support and praise as I've worked on this new piece! The extra encouragement has really pushed me to keep going.

Blood Moon Faerie

My tiny blood moon faerie is complete! I’ve started going back to sculpting with polymer clay lately, despite the fact that it gives me breakouts...nothing can compare with the luminous quality of polymer, when it comes to creating lifelike skin.  Kato has to be my absolute favorite polymer clay for sculpting...It really is the strongest and most flexible I’ve worked with, as well as the most translucent.  I’ve sculpted with a few others, but they just don’t hold up as well when sculpting with such thin layers. This stuff is practically unbreakable though!

This tiny one is 2.75” tall. I really like sculpting fairies in the size I imagine them to be, and this particular vision I had, said “teeny!” She is pretty expressive for a fairy of her size, i think like most of the fae, she is full of mischievous energy.  The most time consuming part of this piece was the wings. I really agonized over different methods again and again, until i got a set that I thought suited her...hope you like how they turned out!

New Root faerie complete!

It only took me about a year of slow sculpting, but I have finally finished working on another root faerie!

She is about the size of the others, just under 5” tall.

I’ve decided that I am going to continue to sculpt, albeit slow, and not let my illness get in the way...at some point in the coming week she will be listed on eBay, so please look either here, my Facebook page Chicory Dell Arts on Facebook

Fairy ornaments available through the holiday season

Every year around this time I start making fairy ornaments.  These are technically meant to be displayed year round, but make nice holiday gifts for people that collect fairies! Most are very tiny and hang from hand blown glass or crystals.  Here is one that is currently available on ebay...
